Journal God’s Perspective – the Gift of New Eyes
Take an issue that is on your heart & mind. Journal your perspective on the subject. That is, write how you feel about it; how you think about it. Get it out on paper. Then turn the paper over or turn the page in your journal. Now, write God’s perspective. You may ask, “How do I know what that is?” Just ask God to reveal it to you. Prayerfully wait for the impressions he brings to your mind. Write what he lays on your heart. Write what you can imagine God saying about the situation. You know his heart; you know his Word; you know his Spirit. Let that knowledge judge whether what is emerging on the page is from him.
Many have found that this exercise has yielded insights and perspective that they never would have come up with, themselves. God truly can and will grant us his gracious, love-filled perspective on a situation if we ask him to. And writing it out separates God’s voice from the many other voices and distractions that fill our minds.
