Doing church simply so that we can simply serve

Spiritual Formation Questions

These Questions for Spiritual Development are to be asked in the context of a loving, supportive covenant relationship between two or three people. The covenant involves a commitment to weekly meetings for prayer and sharing about life in Christ. The goal is for "iron to sharpen iron" in our journey with Christ.

  1. How have you experienced God this week?
  2. How is God shaping you?  How are you responding?
  3. How are your "spiritual eyes" forming to see the spiritual realities in every moment?
  4. For which pre-Christian(s) are you praying?
  5. What did God speak to you through the scriptures this week?
  6. How have you handled temptation this week?
  7. How have you been, and not been, and grown in being a "living epistle" for Christ in:
    1. Speech
    2. Thoughts
    3. Finances
    4. Use of Power
    5. Sexuality
    6. Other areas
  8. In your significant relationships, are you loving well?
  9. What are you battling to submit to God?
  10. What sin(s) do you wish to confess to me and thereby be set free from shame?
  11. How would you like me to agree with you in prayer?
