Doing church simply so that we can simply serve

Serving

". . . in view of God's mercy, offer your bodies as living sacrifices,

holy and pleasing to God; this is your spiritual act of worship."
(Romans 12:1)

Our goal is to combine worship and service at least one Sunday per month.

ServantChurch had the joy of putting in some "sweat-equity" in the renovation of space generously provided by the scheduling software company, Ad Astra.  ReTouch Realty Enhancement Group allowed us to work hand-in-hand with them to create a space for gathering when we are not serving off-site. The Astra Business Center is located at 6900 W. 80th Street in Overland Park, KS.

Three ServantChurch members received twenty hours of FEMA (Federal Emergency Management Agency) training in Jackson County to be credentialed as CERT (Community Emergency Response Team) volunteers. This will allow them to serve, if deployed, in response to disasters, search and rescue operations, and widescale emergencies that tax emergency personnel.

A community of nine newly minted college graduates have chosen to live in Christian community and minister in the urban core of Kansas City, Missouri. Taking up residence in space provided by the Rising Star Missionary Baptist Church at 43rd & Montgall, the group's prayer is to be the light of Christ wherever there is darkness in their neighborhood. ServantChurch and the group installed 28 new vinyl windows to keep the cold out of the living quarters.

Nanny quarters for a family whose mother is battling cancer were completed and dedicated. Several months of steady work by ServantChurch members and by many outside the ServantChurch community completed work that had begun on the addition before cancer struck. The addition will now provide live-in quarters for a nanny to help care for the children as mom fights for health.

When Arrowhead stadium remodeled its Suites, ServantChurch joined many volunteers from the area on a cold winter day,
loading the donated contents of the suites into trailers for Habitat for Humanity's ReStore.

From time-to-time, ServantChurch gathers food for Harvesters or for individual food banks in the area.
